THE CHALLENGE

With our Reel Destinations and Dressed episodes proving there was a significant audience for short-form branded series among Focus Features fans, the big question was: where we could go from here?

Our answer: To create a broadcast-length, standalone cooking series for the Peacock streaming platform.

OUR APPROACH

While the two Downton Abbey films were big hits, they admittedly had an older-skewing audience. But by connecting the refined cinematic aesthetic and historically accurate food of Downton with the popular how-to video internet genre, we knew we could capture both the core and younger audiences.

Each episode, we pair host Nini Nguyen – a New-Orleans based chef, instructor, recipe creator, and recent contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef All Stars – with stars from the films to create iconic, restaurant-quality dishes from the Downton Abbey cookbooks.

Inspired by the Downton Era, our 4-camera shoot used a vintage lens package with an international crew and world class food styling, all shot on-location in London.

With a combination of step-by-step instructions, historical details from the era, and entertaining interactions between our host and co-stars, we delivered five full-length episodes that can captivate viewers whether they’ve seen the films or not.
