Nightmare Alley

Tarot cards tell a story, using just a bit of magic… which inspired the design goals for our graphics featured in the teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s latest film, Nightmare Alley.

The falling cards were initially shot practically as proof of concept. We then incorporated the tarot card design featured in the film and emulated the trajectories of the practical cards in CG. With lighting echoing the film's aesthetic, and a custom deco font, the design truly complements the stunning imagery of teaser.
