The Challenge

After seven thrilling seasons, the Ray Donovan series wraps with a climatic movie finale. Showtime tasked MOCEAN to create a campaign identity that would stay true to the series’ core, yet elevate it into a cinematic event. A key part of our challenge was to visually reconcile the polish of Ray’s present-day persona with the grit of his violent origin story.

Our Approach

Inspired by the movie’s main storylines, we developed the concept “All Roads”, in which everything in Ray’s life leads him back to where it all started. The rough streets of Boston become the graphic backdrop for a retro, Saul Bass-like typographic approach. But remixed with a modern, fractured motion style that reveals foreground and background fragments as they converge, pulling you deeper into the story... where past and present collide.
