Create a film-focused digital travelogue series.
Combining the insight that younger audiences index higher with travel and the fact that Focus’ films have been shot all over the world, we developed a hosted documentary series that travels the globe, exploring the role locations play in the studio’s classic and upcoming films.
We built a show bible, with episode format, shooting-style and a brand design package to unify the series across multiple episodes. After casting our host, Alicia Malone, Reel Destinations was ready to roll.

Every episode is thoroughly researched and scripted; our team conducts pre-interviews with members of the crew and local experts, referencing production notes and third-party sources.
With an approved script, our nimble crew and host travel to the location and shoot verité docu-style, allowing us to move quickly and cheaply. We often schedule multiple episodes on a single trip to maximize costs.
We even continued the series through quarantine, with our production team leading the way via COVID-safe, creative solutions to capture our host’s conversations via Zoom while sending crews to safely capture on-location footage.

Ticket sales, fan love, and an Emmy nom.
With millions of combined views across various platforms, including Peacock and the special features of digital purchases, Focus reports our series is one of their most effective assets outside the trailer to drive ticket sales.
With over 18 episodes, the show has amassed a loyal following who frequently express their love for Alicia, the format, and interest in the promoted titles.
And in 2023, the entire series was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Travel, Adventure, and Nature Program, with new episodes still continuing to this day.
