For their new docu-series, CNN wanted a visual concept that brought to life the role music played in key historical moments. Using a record store as our metaphor, we designed an entire physical space with custom stickers, posters, and album covers that combined the period esthetics of music genres and classic records with memorable events through the ages. To further underscore the documentary genre, we brought each moment to life via animated images and iconic sound bites, unified by voiceover and a classic protest song.
