As TNT rebranded with a new lineup of cinematic dramas from top Hollywood filmmakers and stars, they wanted their promotional materials to not only reflect this change, but to become content a more discerning audience would seek out. The solution: a behind-the-scenes series with the same pedigree as the shows themselves.
Knowing fans of award-pedigree dramas also index higher with behind-the-scenes content, we created a new, cinematic take on the table read that included the cast and showrunners developing key scenes. We developed the concept and look of the series, with a style guide outlining narrative structure, color palette, production design, and camera lens & movement. We then worked with TNT to secure the cast and creators, traveling to various cities to mount the productions. In post, we explored a seamless intercutting style between the table read and finished scene, expressing how the scene evolved. The initial table reads were so successful, TNT expanded the series to their other tentpole dramas.
