WNBA - Post Game Play

The Situation

PlayStation and the WNBA had just finalized a partnership.

And it was time to come out with the first wave of stories that connected the two brands.

The Ask

Bring to life Sony International’s brand pillar of 'Play' through select WNBA athletes.

And bonus points if we could integrate their awesome PlayStation van that nobody had ever used.

PS van

The Insight

Game recognize gamer.

We cast WNBA players who are real gamers — PlayStation Playmakers who play as themselves in NBA 2K — and turned the van into a studio on wheels at All-Star Weekend: rising stars talking play with host Ari Chambers, controllers in hand. Unpolished, real . . . and entertaining.

The Execution

Putting in the sweat in Vegas.

Arriving to All Star Weekend in Las Vegas, we navigated triple digit temperatures to capture three WNBA stars in the official PlayStation van. With our fantastic host, we captured a new angle on these athletes in a way that has never been one for the league — ultimately creating a series of content to live across SIE, WNBA, and Wave Sports platforms.
